How to get a Google OAuth API key

  1. Open Create OAuth client ID in Google Cloud and check the project at the top is the right one. If Google says the Auth Platform is not configured, click Get started, fill in app name, support email, audience and contact email, agree, and click Create first.
  2. Pick Web application as the Application type, give the client a name, and add your app's sign-in redirect address under Authorized redirect URIs.
  3. Click Create. The OAuth client created box shows the client ID and the client secret; the secret is shown only once. Footgun reads both from the box before you close it.
