Terms of service

Footgun is sold by Mark Fachler, doing business as Zero Hired, California, USA. Zero Hired is not yet an incorporated company.

• Free: the public registry, with no charge.
• Pro: $12 per month or $115 per year, for one developer.
• Team: $10 per seat per month or $96 per seat per year, with a minimum of 3 seats. The owner counts as a seat.

Prices are in US dollars. Taxes may be added at checkout where they apply.

A new workspace gets a 7-day free trial of Pro or Team. A card is required to start it. We charge the card when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Each workspace gets one trial, ever.

Subscriptions renew every month or every year, depending on the plan you chose, until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.

You can cancel any time in the billing portal, which you reach from your account page.

We do not refund partial months or years. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Private traps are yours. We do not make them public, and they are visible only to your workspace. If your plan ends, we keep them until you delete them, but you cannot add to them or read them through the service until you subscribe again.

• Do not put secrets, such as passwords or API keys, into traps or searches.
• Do not put other people's confidential data into Footgun.
• Do not try to break, overload or get around the service, its rate limits or its plans.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.

Traps you file to the public registry are published under the CC BY 4.0 licence, like the rest of the public data. Private traps are not published.

Footgun is provided as it is. Traps are drawn from public sources and may be wrong or out of date, so check before you rely on one. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.

When we change these terms, we update this page and the date at the top.
