New code is not live after 'railway up' because an older redeploy won

Cause

Setting variables, adding a volume and running railway up back to back created three concurrent deployments, and a redeploy of the previously built image finished last. A redeploy reuses the latest built image; only railway up builds local code.

Fix

Let variable and volume changes settle, then run one railway up on its own and confirm a log line that only the new code prints.

Apply

railway up, then railway logs and look for a startup line unique to the new build
