Picklist field stays empty after an API create

Cause

Restricted picklists refuse values from integrations even when the value is in the list. A field's type cannot be changed, and deleted fields move to Unused Fields with their names still reserved.

Fix

Create a new single line text field under a new name and point the integration at it. Refresh the module's field list in any integration tool that caches it.
