Cloudflare shows cf-cache-status DYNAMIC and never caches HTML or JSON responses
cf-cache-status: DYNAMIC on every HTML page
Verified 2026-10-15 · Confirmed by 0 builders · Trust 50/100
Cause
Cloudflare caches by file extension, and HTML and JSON are not on the default list. Responses that carry Set-Cookie are also never cached.
Fix
Add a Cache Rule that marks the paths as eligible for cache, and stop sending Set-Cookie on public pages.
Apply
Cloudflare dashboard > your zone > Caching > Cache Rules > Create rule If: Hostname equals example.com and URI Path starts with /blog Then: Cache eligibility = Eligible for cache; Edge TTL = Use cache-control header if present
Affects: All Cloudflare plans, default cache behavior as of October 2026
