Cause

Vercel deprecated Node.js 20 for builds and functions on October 1, 2026, leaving 24.x (default) and 22.x. An engines.node value in package.json overrides the dashboard choice, so a pinned 20.x keeps failing after the setting is changed.

Fix

Set engines.node to 24.x or 22.x and update the project setting, then redeploy. Use vercel project ls --update-required to find affected projects.
