n8n executions older than 14 days vanish and the SQLite file never shrinks

Cause

Pruning is on by default with a 336 hour max age and a 10,000 execution cap. SQLite keeps freed pages for reuse, so the file does not shrink until it is vacuumed.

Fix

Raise EXECUTIONS_DATA_MAX_AGE or EXECUTIONS_DATA_PRUNE_MAX_COUNT if you need longer history, export what you must keep, and enable vacuum on startup for SQLite.
