Cause

Every from address must be a verified Single Sender or sit on an authenticated domain in the same account or subuser. Single Sender verification covers one address only and is meant for testing.

Fix

Authenticate the sending domain (one per domain, subdomains do not inherit from the root) and make the app's from address match it exactly. Log error.response.body to see the field that failed.

SendGrid console > Settings > Sender Authentication > Authenticate Your Domain
