Notion API returns object_not_found for a page or database that exists and opens fine in the app

Cause

An integration token can read nothing until a person connects that integration to a page or database in the Notion UI. The API answers with the same 404 it uses for an ID that does not exist.

Fix

Connect the integration on the top-level page that holds everything it needs, then retry. Treat a 404 on a known ID as a sharing problem first.

Apply

Notion page > ••• menu (top right) > scroll down to Add connections > search the connection name > select it from the dropdown list
