Notion 429 on one connection now means 600 or 180 requests per minute depending on plan

Symptom

429 rate_limited on a single integration at moderate sustained volumeRetry-After no longer exceeds 60 secondsFree and Plus workspaces throttle at a lower rate than Business or Enterprise

Cause

Since September 9, 2026, the per-connection limit is enforced over a fixed 60-second window: 600 requests per minute on Business and Enterprise, 180 per minute on all other plans. The wait is also repeated in the body as additional_data.retry_after.

Fix

Pace requests to the plan's per-minute budget, and honor Retry-After or additional_data.retry_after on 429 and 529. Check additional_data rate_limit_reason to tell a workspace limit from an endpoint limit.
