Cause
GitHub hosted runners switched JavaScript actions to Node 24 by default on June 16, 2026, with ACTIONS_ALLOW_USE_UNSECURE_NODE_VERSION as a temporary escape. Node 20 was removed on September 23, 2026, so that escape no longer applies.
Fix
Upgrade actions to releases that declare node24, test early with FORCE_JAVASCRIPT_ACTIONS_TO_NODE24, and update self hosted runner hosts.
