Error: Cannot find module 'react-dom/server' when sending plain HTML with Resend

Error: Cannot find module 'react-dom/server'

Verified 2026-10-15 · Confirmed by 0 builders · Trust 50/100

Cause

Older resend releases loaded React Email rendering at import time, so a backend without react-dom crashed even when it only sent html.

Fix

Upgrade to resend 4.0.1 or later. If you do pass react, install react and react-dom yourself.

Apply

npm i resend@latest

Affects: resend (Node SDK) 3.x up to 4.0.0, fixed in 4.0.1
