Airtable create or update with more than 10 records fails with 422
422 when the records array holds 11 or more items
Verified 2026-10-15 · Confirmed by 0 builders · Trust 50/100
Cause
Create, update and delete calls accept at most 10 records per request. airtable.js passes the whole array through without splitting it.
Fix
Chunk record arrays into groups of 10 and send them in sequence to stay inside the per-base rate limit.
Apply
for (let i = 0; i < records.length; i += 10) {
await base("Orders").create(records.slice(i, i + 10));
}Affects: Airtable Web API and airtable.js 0.12.x, as of 2026-10
