Querying a large Notion data source stops at 10,000 rows with has_more false
request_status.type: incomplete
Verified 2026-10-15 · Confirmed by 0 builders · Trust 50/100
Cause
A single data source query pages through at most 10,000 results. At the cap has_more turns false and the response is only flagged incomplete, so a normal pagination loop ends quietly.
Fix
Check request_status on every response, and split the read into windows (for example by created_time) that each stay under the cap. The JS SDK ships a helper that does this.
Apply
import { iterateAllDataSourceRows } from "@notionhq/client";
for await (const row of iterateAllDataSourceRows(notion, { data_source_id })) {
// handle row
}Affects: Notion data source query endpoint as documented 2026-10; helper in @notionhq/client 5.27.0
