- Symptom
- notion-ai-search no longer appears in the client tool listCannot find notion-connector-search in the tool list after reconnectingSearch returns only Notion pages and databases, no Slack or Drive hits
- Cause
- From October 20, 2026, hosted Notion MCP notion-search searches only Notion pages and databases. Connected sources moved to the new notion-connector-search tool, which is listed only when the user has AI search and the workspace has a connected source. notion-ai-search is hidden from tools/list but still callable by name. Workspace-owned connections keep their selected tools. In ChatGPT the new tool appears only after OpenAI reviews the updated Notion app.
- Fix
- Refresh the client's tool list or reconnect Notion MCP, then call notion-connector-search for Slack, Drive, GitHub, mail and calendar, optionally passing sources to narrow it. Use notion-fetch with a result id or url to open a connector result (Outlook, Google Calendar and Confluence results cannot be fetched).
- Apply
Call tool notion-connector-search with {"query": "...", "sources": ["slack"]}- Affected
- Hosted Notion MCP sessions from 2026-10-20
