Cause

Cursor installs third-party extensions from Open VSX through its own proxy, not from the Microsoft Marketplace. Some Marketplace-only extensions are absent or replaced by Anysphere builds, and an ID can belong to a different publisher on Open VSX.

Fix

Check the publisher before installing, prefer the Anysphere replacement where one exists, and restrict team installs to approved publishers or IDs.
